5 Gadgets That College Students Actually Don’t Need 

Many gadgets might bring a sense of expense for the students. First, students must make their priorities sorted depending on what they need. College life is that life when students are not employed mainly. Their expenses, Lifestyle, everything needs proper channelisation of wealth. If they start availing of items beyond their range of availability, then it becomes apparent that they will not sustain amidst such whimsical decisions. Proper economic decisions are the ones that students need to make at the very start of their college journey. They first need to find the gadgets that mostly resolve the issues with their needs and help them learn more. 

1. Printer 

Printers are one of those electronic gadgets which college students do not need. College students do not require printers as suitable printers cost heavily. Printers are not that essential in terms of having them in homes or hostels. The printer and the colour cartridge cost are way beyond the worth a student needs to spend on printed pages. 

Printers also need regular maintenance and production, but at this time, amidst a load of pdfs and other digital media, it has come down to a point where printed pages are remotely needed. Although I often needed to print pages to buy dissertation, a printer was never required. Even if I had a printer, I would often visit the nearest shop to do the prints because it was cheaper. Students also get the assistance of the library and can very well access that. If they want to spend their Pocket money on a printer, that is going to be one of the most unproductive decisions of all. 

2. Xerox Machine 

The idea of not having a xerox machine is very similar to a printer’s point. Xerox machines are mainly used for official purposes and, at times, for academic purposes. Every campus University or college has access to xerox machines. It is unnecessary to make the installations at home for xerox, and the amounts students will expand on photocopies are way less than a xerox machine costs. Xerox machines are not that useful for personal use; rather, students can spend the amount on books and other stuff which will be productive and ensure returns. 

3. Expensive alarm clocks

Alarm clocks are the most redundant thing, making barely any relevance in the usage context. No Student needs an alarm clock to get ready or to wake up from bed at a time. This is useless as everybody has their phones, and all these activities can also be materialized from phones. Over time the usage and working abilities of alarm clocks have subsided as we have better alternatives. Better alternatives are better in the context of the budget as well. An expensive alarm clock needs costly maintenance too, which is of no use except for its aesthetic appeal. Students who are away from home and pursuing careers should look into this and check their needs at first. 

4. Oven Toaster Grillers 

Oven toaster grillers are the ones that also have no relevance in the context of day-to-day dealings and domestic chores. OTG is mainly used for making cakes and baking. The students have barely any relevance to spending that much money on this thing. If the students are living in hostels and PGs, then all they need is something fundamental that helps them student in their survive. Survival does not include the parts of making cakes or cookies; they need gas and other essential stuff for making foods. OTG is one of the necessary gadgets for the bakers, not for the students. 

5. Heater 

This gadget also seems irrelevant in the context of daily needs. Even in winters, other measures can be taken to combat the cold. Heater costs heavily, and electricity bills also come in a giant size after this installation. A heater is very useless as the working capacity of these gadgets remains limited to only a specific season. This Seasonal goodness of devices is not required in terms of college life. The excellence of academics should surround college life, and the perks of good college life should always stay here. 

The Bottom Line

The abovementioned gadgets are useless in terms of having that in College life. College life means I should be more engaged in academics and academic helping measures. Other devices are also meaningless, but it requires holistic analysis on this, which will help the students sort their financial investments.
