9-1-1 Season 4: Cast, Release date and more details!

9-1-1 is a procedural television series that airs on Fox. The show revolves around the lives of first responders of the city of Los Angeles- police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers. The show was developed for Fox by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. 9-1-1 premiered on television in January 2018. The first season consisted of ten episodes. The second and the third season consisted of eighteen episodes each.

The series stars Angella Bassett as Athena Carter Grant/Nash, an LAPD patrol sergeant, Peter Krause as Robert “Bobby” Nash, an LAFD Station captain, Oliver Stark as firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley, Aisha Hinds as firefighter/paramedic Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Kenneth Choi as firefighter/paramedic Howard “Howie”/”Chimney” Han, and Rockmond Dunbar as Athena’s ex-husband Michael Grant. Connie Britton, who was a regular in season one, appeared as a special guest in season three as 911 operator Abigail “Abby” Clark. Corinne Massiah and Marcanthonee Jon Reis, who appeared as recurring characters May and Harry Grant respectively, became series regulars from season two onwards.

Other cast members of the show include Jennifer Love Hewitt as 911 operator Madeline “Maddie” Buckley Kendal, Ryan Guzman as firefighter Edmundo “Eddie” Diaz, Gavin McHugh as Eddie’s son Christopher Diaz, and John Harlan Kim as Chimney’s half-brother Albert Han.

9-1-1 Season 4- What we know so far

9-1-1 has seen consistently high ratings ever since it aired on Fox two years ago. The show has an average viewership count of ten million viewers across its three seasons. 9-1-1 has also inspired a spin-off television series on Fox, titled 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is based on the first responders in the city of Austin, Texas. In April 2020, while the third season of 9-1-1 was still airing, Fox renewed the show for a fourth season.

Season three of 9-1-1 finished airing in May 2020. Although the new season usually begins production in June-July and starts airing in September, this might not happen for season four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fox has also made an announcement that the show won’t be returning until 2021. Showrunner Tim Minear has also hinted that he might incorporate the ongoing pandemic into the next season. If production does not get delayed any further, season four of 9-1-1 might air sometime in mid-2021.
