As much as we like a good, humble protagonist we crave a ruthless and formidable antagonist. An antagonist whose slight reference brings bad omen. The villain whose name brings shivers to those who dare say it. All these elements can make a perfect monster who viewers will abhor from bottom of their heart yet always have some fascination for it. What better example of such a character can be known better known than that of Voldemort.
Why Voldemort deserve a standalone film?
In the magical universe created by JK Rowling, nothing can be more perfect. A perfect protagonist in the form of Harry, loyal friends, mentors like Hagrid and Professor Dumbledore. Every character in the film can justify a full film on them. Yet there is nothing vaguer and fascination than a film on Voldemort. The antagonist is fully justified to have a film be made on his backstory or perhaps even a series.
The closest thing that fans got in the form of a standalone Voldemort film was an unofficial fan film. The film instead of doing justice to the villain left viewers wanting more. It is time that a complete film is made on Voldemort’s past.
The movie already has a lot of material, to begin with. Fans are always curious to know how Tom Marvolo Riddle developed into one ‘ whose name must not be taken’. There is a lot of mystery surrounding his past. We know Voldemort only from Harry Potter’s time duration but what about his past before Harry. How did satan find a home in the little Tom Riddle? How did he create Horcrux?
There are trillions are questions that fans want answers for. A standalone Voldemort film is bound to be successful. The mystery and hatred against Voldemort will make sure that he will be remembered as one of the best villain viewers have ever seen.
