A Teacher is an upcoming television drama miniseries produced by FX, for its sister streaming service, FX on Hulu. Hannah Fidell has written and directed the miniseries, and also serves as executive producer on the miniseries, alongside Michael Costigan, Jason Bateman, Louise Shore, Danny Brocklehurst and Kate Mara. The miniseries is based on Fidell’s 2013 film of the same name. The premise of A Teacher is this-
“A Teacher explores the story behind the mugshot of a female high school teacher caught in an affair with her male student, revealing the complexities and consequences of these illegal relationships. Little do they know the problems it causes.”

Cast of A Teacher
The series stars Kate Mara as Claire, a young teacher at a Texas high school; Nick Robinson as Eric, an all-American senior; Ashley Zuckerman as Matt, Claire’s husband; Marielle Scott as Kathryn, a French teacher at Westerbrook; Adam David Thompson as Nate, a police officer, and Claire’s older brother. Other cast members include Rya Kihlstedt as Sandy, Eric’s mother; Camila Perez as Alison, Eric’s ex-girlfriend; Charlie Zeltzer as Phil Walker, Eric’s little brother; Cameron Moulene as Cody, a frat boy; Shane Harper as Logan, Cody’s younger brother; and Ciara Bravo as Mary.
Release Date and more details about A Teacher
The release date of the miniseries was announced on September 9, 2020. A Teacher will consist of ten half-hour episodes. The first three episodes of the miniseries will premiere on Hulu on November 9, 2020.
Hannah Fidell revealed further details about the plot of the miniseries at the FX Press Day on September 9, 2020. She said that the series will explore the complexities of the illicit relationship between Claire and Eric, as under Texas state law, an affair of such a nature is illegal, even if Eric was of legal age, to begin with.
