Amazon’s Echo Show Second Generation and Echo Input Devices to launch on January 17

Echo Show

Amazon Echo Show, a smart speaker that is part of the Amazon Echo line of products. It was designed around the company’s virtual assistant Alexa and featured a 7-inch touchscreen display that displays visual information to accompany its responses along with playing video and conducting video calls with other Echo Show users which are now available to all Skype users.

Today, Indian tipster Ishan Agarwal on this twitter handle @Ishanagarwal24 revealed that the 2nd Generation Echo Show and Echo Input Devices will be launched in India on January 17. He further added that the Echo Show will likely to be priced above Rs 20,000.

Amazon has introduced the Echo Show (2nd Gen), Echo Sub, Echo Dot along with other Echo devices last year in September. The Echo Plus, Echo Dot and Echo Sub were already available in India and now it seems the Echo Show and Echo Input Devices will be heading to the Indian market.

The second generation Echo Show sports a 10 inch HD display while the new Echo Show smart speaker comes with a new design and upgraded speakers. The Echo input features a tiny design and has similar functions to that of Google Chromecast Audio. The Echo Input has the functionality to connect with any regular speaker with the help of a 3.5mm jack. It can also be connected through other means like Bluetooth which will turn it into an Alexa-enabled speaker.

Amazon had previously revealed its plans to bring the Echo Show and Echo Input Devices in the country but didn’t give a specific timeline. They are expected to come with a price tag of Rs 20,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. At this price tag, it will be competing directly against Google’s Chromecast. If this report turns out to be true, Google will likely announce it this week. We will keep you posted with further details. Keep tuned with us.
