Developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green for the premium cable network Starz and produced by Fremantle USA and distributed by Lionsgate Television, the first season premiered on April 30, 2017. American Gods is an American fantasy drama television series based on Neil Gaiman’s 2001 novel ‘American Gods’, and Fuller and Green served as the showrunners for the first season and were replaced by Jesse Alexander for the second season.
“American Gods” is a story of an inevitable war which happens between the Old Gods of mythology and our New Gods of technology.
Ian McShane recently told that “Shadow has two revelations that happen with him which will have to be solved in Season 3,” He added that he doesn’t know how much longer the series will run. “I’m wondering how long they can draw out the book. Will it end with Season 3, or will there be a Season 4, before Shadow takes wing on his own?”
American Gods’ stars Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Ian McShane, Kahyun Kim, Demore Barnes and Chris Obi. Season 3 will premiere on Jan 10 2021.

Charles Eglee serves as showrunner for the upcoming third season. Gaiman serves as an executive producer along with Fuller, Green, Craig Cegielski, Stefanie Berk, David Slade, and Adam Kane.
Just like the book, the show follows Shadow as he helps Mr Wednesday enlist Old Gods for the war against the New Gods.
Season 2 begins after Mr Wednesday finally comes clean to Shadow about being Odin. As the episodes continue, audiences see Wednesday and his allies are at a disadvantage, with Shadow, Wednesday and Salim eventually being accused of being terrorists by New Media.
