American Housewife Season 5: Release Date, Plot, and Updates!

Created and written by Sarah Dunn, American Housewife is an American sitcom TV series which is networked by ABC. The show received much popularity and positive reviews for it’s the humourous plot, good vibes and superb acting by the cast. There are four seasons of the series. The good news is that the series has been renewed for a fifth season by ABC and is all set to premiere this year. The show instantly won hearts of its viewers after it’s debut in 2016.

Release Date and Trailer:

American Housewife season 5 will premiere on 28th of October 2020. In May 2020, the network confirmed the renewal status of the show.  The first season debuted on ABC back in October 2016. The following three seasons came out on September 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively. There is no official trailer of the show yet.

What is it about?

The official synopsis on ABC goes like ‘Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” offspring. Katie’s perfectly imperfect world is upended when her neighbour’s decision to move notches her up from her ideal social standing and sets her on a path to ensure that doesn’t happen, regardless of the consequences. Luckily, her husband, Greg Otto, supports her in every way possible, but with a dash of reality thrown in as they work to ensure their children do not end up like everyone else. However, that isn’t going to be easy when her oldest teenage daughter, Taylor, is already set on the “perfect” path; middle son Oliver has one goal in life: to be rich; and her youngest, Anna Kat, needs a little extra help navigating life. Then there are her friends, Angela and Doris, who help Katie keep it all in perspective and are the allies she needs in a town where “keeping it real” is not a compliment. Despite her flaws and unconventional ways, Katie ultimately only wants the best for her kids and will fight tooth-and-nail to instil some good old-fashioned values in them, if it’s the last thing she does.’

The Cast Members of the show:

The main cast members of American Housewife season 5 are Katy Mixon as Kate “Katie” Otto, Diedrich Bader as Greg Otto (Katie’s husband),  Meg Donnelly as Taylor Otto (Katie and Greg’s teenage daughter), Daniel DiMaggio as Oliver Otto(Katie and Greg’s teenage son and middle child), Giselle Eisenberg as Anna-Kat Otto(Katie and Greg’s youngest daughter), Ali Wong as Doris (one of Katie’s best friends) and Carly Hughes as Angela (one of Katie’s best friends).

Julia Butters who played the part, Anna-Kat Otto, up to season 4 will not be playing her character in the fifth season.
