American Pie can be claimed as a benchmark teen sex-comedy film series of the previous decade. The first American Pie film came out in 1999. Since then, there have been three more theatrical releases in the franchise. Adding to that, another four direct-to-video films have been released as a separate spin-off series, under the name of American Pie Presents,with a fifth one scheduled for an October 2020 release. The film series has been distributed by Universal Pictures, and have grossed a collective amount of $990 million, against a budget of $145 million. The films have since garnered a cult youth following, and have set benchmarks for various movies and television series of the same genre.
American Pie 5- What we know so far
Tara Reid,in 2018 had said that she had met with the directors of the fifth American Pie film, and confirmed that a fifth film would happen. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will return as writers and directors for the film. The film is supposedly expected to be a vacation story in Vegas, with Jim and the gang getting in trouble; although no official synopsis or storyline has been confirmed as of now.
Most of the cast members are expected to return for the fifth film. Jason Biggs as Jim Levenstein, Eugene Levy as Jim’s dad Noah Levenstein, Alyson Hannigan as Michelle Levenstein, Seann William Scott as Steve Stifler, Thomas Ian Nicholas as Kevin Myers, Eddie Kay Thomas as Paul Finch, Chris Ostreicher as Chris Klein are all expected to reprise their roles for the fifth film. Tara Reid is also expected to be a part of the fifth film.
American Pie 5- When will it release?
