Created by Dan Futterman, American Rust is an American crime drama television series. The show is based on the novel of the same name by Philipp Meyer. Futterman is also an executive producer of the series along with, Adam Rapp, Elisa Ellis, Jeff Daniels, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Michael De Luca, and Paul Martino.
The series premiered on September 12, 2021, on Showtime. In January 2022, the series was canceled after one season by Showtime. In June 2022, the series was revived for a second season by Amazon Freevee.

American Rust Plot and Cast
The ending of season one is not the usual cliche in most films: a cliffhanger that makes you long for the second season. Season two could address Billy the Pose’s fate and how Lee moves on now that Henry is supposedly dead. There is also a possibility that Del could reunite with Isaac and have a case built on all the murders he has executed.
American Rust has been acted by a talented actor, which we hope to see in the next season once it is renewed. Jeff Daniels, who acts as Del Harris, is famous for featuring in “Ragtime” (1981). He is smitten by Maura Tierney (Grace Poe) and helps her cover for her son Billy’s (Alex Neustaedter) murders.
David Alvarez (Isaac English), who is also Billy’s best friend, has a sick dad Bill Camp (Henry English), and an older sister Julia Mayorga (Lee English). Other supporting characters of this series are; Mark Pellegrino (Virgil), Rob Yang (Steve Park), Namir Smallwood (Sherrif Deluca), Jon Barclay (Aaron), and Emily Davis (Sue Herlitz), and Dallas Roberts.
American Rust Season 2 Release Date
We are yet to find out the confirmed release date for the American Rust Season2, it will most probably premiere at the end of 2023. On Amazon’s Freevee, Jeff Daniels’s Showtime drama has finally found a new home. Season 2 is expected to start filming later this year.
The upcoming season might consist of nine episodes like the previous season. Although, it’s not confirmed yet.
