America’s Funniest Home Videos, also known as America’s Funniest Videos, (abbreviated as AFHV and AFV), is a video clip comedy television series on ABC. The series is created by Vin Di Bona, based on the Japanese variety show, Fun TV with Kato-Chan and Ken-Chan. AFV features humorous homemade videos submitted by viewers across the USA.

America’s Funniest Home Videos Season 30 – A brief overview, and ratings
The series was renewed for two seasons (30th and 31st) in October 2018, with season 30 premiering in September 2019. Season 30 of AFV was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the on-set host segments involving Alfonso Ribeiro were shot at his home, instead of the studios. The season featured videos from people quarantined at their homes and dealing with the lockdown. These episodes of the season were called AFV@Home. Vin Di Bona, the executive producer of AFV, said this about AFV@Home-
“AFV@Home shines a light on the fun and amazing ways people have found to pass the time while being quarantined. We found remarkable videos that we wanted to share because, at home or not, everyone could use a few extra laughs.”
The 30th season of AFV averaged a demo rating of 0.77 in the 18-49 category and had an average of 5.08 million viewers across the season. The series stood at number six in ABC’s list of non-scripted shows in 2019-20, in terms of viewership.
