The first season of the show premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 2, 2018, commemorating 50 years of the depicted events in the series. It has received positive reviews from critics and audiences and holds a rating of 85% on JustWatch. Considering the decent feedback towards the series, it has been renewed for a second season.

An Unknown Enemy Plot and Cast

Although An Unknown Enemy was renewed for a second season a long time back, the makers have not revealed much about the plot. However, it will surely continue from where Season 1 ended.

The show explores the origins of the Mexican dirty war of the 1960s and portrays the trials of Fernando Barrientos, head of the NSD secret police, to ensure a grip on political country, as the country goes through a series of social turmoil, in part provoked by the agency he is directing.

Everything happens in the frame of the Cold War, the 1960s youth counterculture, the preparations of 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico and the upcoming 1970 Mexican general election.

The cast members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles in the second season. The main cast members include Antonio de la Vega, Fernando Becerril, Hernan Del Riego, Karina Gidi, Kristyan Ferrer, Andres Delgado and Irene Azuela.

An Unknown Enemy Season 2 Release Date

It has been a long time since An Unknown Enemy was renewed for a second season. For now, we can definitely expect it to release sometime towards the end of 2022.
