The show explores the origins of the Mexican dirty war of the 1960s and portrays the trials of Fernando Barrientos, head of the NSD secret police, to ensure a grip on political country, as the country goes through a series of social turmoil, in part provoked by the agency he is directing.
Everything happens in the frame of the Cold War, the 1960s youth counterculture, the preparations of 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico and the upcoming 1970 Mexican general election.
The cast members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles in the second season. The main cast members include Antonio de la Vega, Fernando Becerril, Hernan Del Riego, Karina Gidi, Kristyan Ferrer, Andres Delgado and Irene Azuela.

It has been a long time since An Unknown Enemy was renewed for a second season. For now, we can definitely expect it to release sometime towards the end of 2022.
