Streaming service Amazon Prime Video is bringing a brand new British fantasy television miniseries, Anasi Boys. It is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Richard MacKinnon Gaiman.
The series is written by Lenny Henry, Neil Gaiman, Arvind Ethan David, Kara Smith, and Racheal Ofori. Lenny Henry and Neil Giman are also the executive producers alongside Douglas Mackinnon, Hanelle Culpepper, Hilary Bevan Jones, and Richard Fee with their production companies Amazon Studios, Endor Productions, The Blank Corporation, and Red Production Company.

Anasi Boys Plot and Cast
It follows the story of Charlie Nancy, a young man who is used to being embarrassed by his estranged father. But, when his father passes away, Charlie discovers that his father was Anansi, the trickster god of stories.
He also learns that he has a brother named Spider, who upon entering his life, brings with him more interesting and dangerous adventures. This is a standalone story and not connected to Gaiman’s other Amazon Prime series, American Gods.
Now, talking about the cast, Delroy Lindo was first chosen to play the role of Mr. Nancy. In September 2021, it was announced Malachi Kirby would star as both of Mr. Nancy’s sons, Fat Charlie and Spider. Amarah-Jae St. Aubyn and Grace Saif were cast as the female leads Rosie Noah and Daisy Day respectively, as revealed in December 2021.
Anasi Boys Release Date
Amazon Prime has not yet revealed the release date for the series, but filming has already began in 2021. Shooting for the series started in Scotland in late 2021, and the series is expected to release in summer 2024.
The makers have also not revealed the number of episodes for this season and neither there are any other plans to renew the show for another season.
