The upcoming television series, Andor, is a prequel to Rogue One (2016), the infamous spin-off film of George Lucas’ Star Wars. The series is created by Tony Gilroy and executive produced by Diego Luna, who reprises his role from Rogue One as Cassion Andor. The action-adventure sci-fi will seek a newer perspective of the Star Wars galaxy with an absolute focus on Andor’s quest of making a difference. Andor is a story depicting the pre-Rogue One timeline, set five years before the mission. It is based on Star Wars and revolves around the journey of Cassian Andor to search to make a significant difference. The nail-biting thriller incorporates exploring the backstory of Andor, focusing on the diverse reasons that drew Andor towards the galactic Rebellion. The show involves how Andor, from a self-serving nihilist, evolved into a selfless martyr. Andor is a story depicting the pre-Rogue One timeline, set five years before the mission. It also shows flashbacks of Andor’s childhood when his home and world came to be conquered by the tyrannical Empire, which was and is expanding rapidly while wiping out every soul that is coming in their way.

Andor comprises a cast that includes Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Adria Arjona as Kleya, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero, Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, Fiona Shaw as Maarva, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerreram, and Anton Lesser as an Imperial Officer. The show also casts Kyle Soller, Robert Emms, David Hayman, Alex Ferns, and Clemens Schick.

Andor: Release Date

Andor releases on September 21, 2022, on Disney+. The series comprises 12 episodes with three of them launching on the day of release followed by one episode every week through November 23, 2022.
