Cast and Characters
Turner-Smith is joined by a fantastic cast for Anne Boleyn, with several familiar faces playing crucial individuals from the Tudor era. Dating Amber’s Lola Petticrew causes issues as Anne’s love rival, Jane Seymour, while White House Farm’s Mark Stanley stars opposite her as Henry VIII, the most famous king in British history.
Paapa Essiedu, who starred in the film Gangs of London, plays Anne’s brother George, and Jamael Westman plays Jane Seymour’s ambitious brother Edward. Amanda Burton (Silent Witness) joins the cast as Lady Anne Shelton, the austere Governess. Henry VIII’s closest and most powerful advisor Thomas Cromwell is played by White Lines actor Barry Ward, and Anne’s loyal confidante and cousin Madge Shelton is played by Trigonometry star Thalissa Teixeira.
