Aquaman 2: Is Emilia Clark Replacing Amber Heard for the role of Mera?
Warner Bros recently announced that the sequel would release in the theaters on December 16, 2022. Aquaman 2 is officially in works and fans are excited for the sequel to hit the theaters.
After the success of the 2018 Aquaman, James Wan is coming back to produce it with Peter Safran. Later on, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be appointed as the screenwriter.
The filming for Aquaman sequel will start next year as the script is still not final stages. DC movies calendar is kind of uncertain, unlike the Marvel movies which have announced their movies slate for the next few years.
Emilia Clark as Mera in Aquaman 2
Well, the rumors have it. The famous Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clark is the perfect choice to replace Amber Heard for the role of Mera. We have also witnessed Emilia and Jason Momoa together in an HBO series, so she is the perfect choice to play the role of Mera.
Fans have also signed a petition approving the decision taken by Warner Bros. to substitute Clark for Amber.

The reason behind Amber Heard’s replacement
Amber Heard has a continuing legal dispute with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. According to the sources, she is not only replaced by the role of Mera but is removed from other future Warner Brothers projects.
Reports also announced that she would be dismissed as the spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris. This report is a speculation as of now.
