Netflix brought yet another invigorating teenage series, The Baby-Sitters Club‘, premiered on July 3, 2020. The American web series is created by Rachel Shukert based on the children’s novel series of the same name by Ann M. Martin. And it is not the first time the books are inspiring a TV series. There had been a 1990 version that was aired on HBO and was produced by the Scholastic Corporation. Now, if we look into the last one, then we can expect a second season in the future. On top of that, we have a bunch of novels to cover.

Ann M. Martin’s beloved books get a modern update in this series that follows a group of girlfriends and their homegrown babysitting business.
The series follows the friendship and adventures of five middle-schoolers, as they start a babysitting business in Stoneybrook, Connecticut. A bunch of seventh graders realized the potential business opportunities in the field of babysitting. Kristy, the mastermind behind this idea, formed a baby sitters club with the help of her friends, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey. Their business took off when Kristy’s mother Elizabeth’s boyfriend, Watson, calls them to look after his children. And how can one expect a chick flick to roll on without much drama? The teen entrepreneurs lot proceed to learn about themselves and the way they want to be in the world. “Everyone has to grow, but no one has to do it alone.” They explore the unvarying teen emotions and experiences, starting from internal conflicts, to falling in love and calling for attention from that one guy who doesn’t revert, to brawling with the parents regularly. The Baby-Sitters Club takes us on a nostalgic tour of the good, old days.
In February 2019, Netflix ordered a 10-episode reboot based on The Baby-Sitters Club with Ann M. Martin as a producer, Rachel Shukert as showrunner, and Michael De Luca and Lucia Aniello as executive producers.
