ASUS finally launched its flagship ROG gaming smartphone in the Indian market. The company unveiled it back in June this year with a customized ASUS Aura RGB lighting back gaming specifications. The gaming smartphone market in India is still in its prime and is the perfect timing to introduce it to the hardcore gaming fans.
As for specifications, the ASUS ROG has a 6 inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels), 18:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked at 2.95 GHz paired with an Adreno 630 GPU. It is available with 6GB LPDDR4XRAM and 512GB internal storage.
The device features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP secondary camera with dual-pixel PDAF, 4 axis OIS, and LED flash. The front houses an 8MP single camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a non-removable 4,000 mAh battery that can charge from 0% to 60% in just 33 minutes.
Being a gaming specific device, it offers some extra gaming centric features lije the company’s Air Trigger feature that uses ultrasonic sensors, allowing the side to be used a shoulder buttons in the gaming by mapping them. There are dual USB Type-C ports with only one supporting fast charging. The side port can also be plugged with AeroActive cooler, which is basically an external fan keeping the temperature in check. For audio connectivity, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The ASUS ROG gaming smartphone costs Rs 69,999 and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from today. ASUS is offering a zero interest EMI option with a 12 month plan costing Rs 5,833 per month. Flipkart has also reduced the value of Mobile Protection Plan, costing Rs 999 instead of the usual Rs 5,999. Furthe,r there is an additional cashback offer for Reliance Jio customers.
The company will be launching all the gaming accessories of the ROG phone in the coming days that includes Professional Dock (Rs 5,499), TwinView Dock (Rs 21,999), Desktop Dock (Rs 12,999) GameVice (Rs 5,999) and ROG Phone case (Rs 2,499) while the AeroActive cooler comes free with the smartphone.
The handset is on of the few gaming smartphones in the Indian market and means serious gaming business.
