Loads of leaks and rumours suggested us that Asus Zenfone 6 would be unveiled at MWC 2019. However, it appears that Asus will not be announcing their new ZenFone at Mobile World Congress as estimated. Notably, the company is going to have its private launch event in Spain on May 14th for the ZenFone 6 launch. The stage would also be shared by the 5Z’s successor, dubbed as Asus Zenfone 6Z.
Asus has teased the same in a magazine that comes with the press passes for MWC 2019 in Barcelona. Last year, Asus pronounced the ZenFone 5 at a happening in Mobile World Congress 2018. Following which, in November 2018, the Asus ZenFone 6 joined the rumour mill.
If reports are to be believed, the Asus Zenfone 6 will feature an eccentric notch that’s to be found off the middle. To be precise, it’s in the middle of where a battery gauge and network signal bars are classically situated. Nonetheless, the leaked device might not be the ultimate design. That being said, the commercial in Mobile World Daily demonstrates a different story. Not full info is presented around the ZenFone 6 but going by the Zenfone 5 you can expect beefy specifications.
The advert hints that the Asus ZenFone 6 will story a virtually bezel-less design with a screen-to-body ratio of above 90%. We also see the possibility of a punch-hole display or even a pop-up camera. Nonetheless, rumours even suggest the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Zenfone 6Z should come with Snapdragon 855 SoC while the Zenfone 6 could settle with Snapdragon 710 SoC. Anyways, nothing is confirmed as of now! Let’s wait for the launch to reveal exact information about the device. Till then, stay tuned.
