Ava: Release Date, Plot, and Updates!

Directed by Tate Taylor (The Girl on the Train) and written by Matthew Newton (Who We Are Now), Ava is a 2020 American action thriller movie. It is a perfect unification of drama, suspense and action while spinning around an assassin. Though the movie received mixed reviews after the limited release, we are yet to see how the viewers react and review to this blood-soaked thriller.

Release Date and Trailer of the film:

The action thriller is all set to release on 25th of September 2020 by Vertical entertainment (limited release). The show first debuted on 2nd July 2020 in Hungary, followed by the release in the United States through DirecTV Cinema on August 27, 2020.

The trailer of the movie looks promising and “blood-soaked”. Take a look at the trailer below:

What is it about?

The official synopsis of Ava goes like: “Ava (Chastain) is a deadly assassin who works for a black ops organization, travelling the globe specializing in high profile hits. When a job goes dangerously wrong she is forced to fight for her own survival.”

Unlike most assassins, Ava doesn’t hate her job. In fact, she loves it a little much. The plot focuses on  Eva, an assassin, who breaks a protocol and lands herself in trouble. The head of the organization, Simon, sends his mercenaries out to put a stop to Ava so that nobody can trace her. Ava’s mentor tries to fight for her but Simon doesn’t pay heed. From here follows the fight between the two(Ava and Simon), which is action-packed. The story reminds us of John Wick franchise. We also get to see Ava’s family as she decides to go back to Boston. She now has to save her family from the threats while fighting Simon and his men.

Who is in it?

The cast members are Jessica Chastain as Ava Faulkner, Colin Farrell as Simon, Geena Davis as Bobbi Faulkner(Ava’s mother), Common as Michael(Ava’s ex-fiancé), John Malkovich as Duke, Christopher Domig as Gunther, Joan Chen as Toni, Diana Silvers as Camille, Jess Weixler as Judy Faulkner( Ava’s sister), Ioan Gruffudd as Peter Hamilton and Joe Sobalo Jr. as Alejandro.
