Created by Armando Iannucci, Avenue 5 is a science fiction comedy series produced for HBO. Iannucci is also the executive producer alongside Kevin Loader, Will Smith, Tony Roche and Simon Blackwell.

The first season of the show premiered on January 19, 2020 and received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes. The makers have renewed the series for a second season, which is scheduled to release soon on HBO.

After an accident turns a three-hour tour and eight week space cruise into a three-year nightmare, the fake work and the much smaller one work together to find a solution that would get them back to Earth in six months instead of three years.

This becomes difficult when an argument leads to Judd revealing Clark of his now-kind-of-real command and Clark comes out as a fake. A few passengers wonder if the whole situation is not an elaborate prank and eject themselves from an airlock, killing seven.

Now when it comes to pursue a maneuver that would alter their course, a miscommunication leads to he cargo being ejected from the wrong airlocks, throwing them further off course that their return journey will now take eight years. It is unknown if there will be a chance to get the ship home faster but the ship’s conditions would deteriorate as time progresses.

Coming to the cast of Avenue 5 Season 2, the members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles that include Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, Zach Woods, Rebecca Front, Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Ethan Phillips. We might get to see Himesh Patel, Jessica St. Clair, Kyle Bornheimer, Any Buckley, Matthew Beard, Daisy May Cooper, Adam Palsson, Julie Dray and Neil Casey in supporting roles.

Avenue 5 was renewed for a second season in February 2020. Its been a long time and considering that, Season 2 should release by the end of 2022. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.

The upcoming season is expected to consist of nine episodes like Season 1. Any further changes in the cast and plot are expected to be announced soon by the makers.
