BÄCKSTRÖM SEASON 1:

Based on Leif GW Persson’s crime novels, “Bäckström” is a Swedish mystery-crime drama that centers on murder investigator Evert Bäckström, who is convinced that crimes have been committed when a women’s cranium is found on an island in the archipelago. But his investigation is countered by the police chief and when the woman’s identity is clarified, the entire investigation is turned upside down. Starring Bergqvist along with Agnes Lindström Bolmgren, Helen Sjöholm, Linus Wahlgren, and Elvis Stegmar, the show made its first broadcast on March 23, 2020, on TV4 in Sweden with a set of six episodes.

The show made its debut in the US on Monday, April 26, 2021, on Acorn TV.

The series basically revolves around homicide detective Evert (Kjell Bergqvist), who boasts that he has solved 99 percent of all cases he investigated. But when a skull with bullet holes is found on an uninhabited island in the archipelago, Bäckström is confronted with a more difficult mystery than he could have imagined.

Apart from being exclusively available for streaming on TV4, AMC Networks has acquired the US, Canada, and UK streaming rights to Swedish mystery-crime drama series Bäckström for its Acorn TV streaming service.
