A reboot of the VH1 series, created by Jeff Gaspin and Gay Rosenthal, “Behind The Music” is a documentary television series, the first season of which is set to premiere on Thursday, July 29, 2021, on Paramount+.
The groundbreaking and prolific music documentary series returns with several new episodes and the best of the vault remastered and updated for today’s audiences with artist interviews, a creative refresh, and reimagined visual style.
Each episode profiles and interviews a popular musical artist or group and examines the beginning of their career, their road to success, and the hardships they may have encountered.
Originally broadcast by VH1, Behind the Music gave fans unprecedented access into the real lives and careers of music’s biggest acts. Episodes on Metallica, Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, and others became essential viewing, exposing the many peaks and valleys of rock stardom.
The new season of Behind the Music leans heavily into pop and hip-hop, with Bret Michaels slated as the only rock act. Episodes on Ricky Martin, LL Cool J, Huey Lewis, Busta Rhymes, Duran Duran, New Kids on the Block, and Fat Joe will round out the rest of the season. See the full list of air dates below.
