Bel-Air Season 2: Release Date, Plot and more!

Developed by Morgan Cooper, Malcolm Spellman, TJ Brady, and Rasheed Newson, Bel-Air is an American drama television series. It is a reimagined version of the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and is based on Cooper’s short fan film of the same name.

The first season premiered on Peacock on February 13, 2022. It received generally positive reviews from critics and currently holds an approval rating of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the decent feedback, the makers have renewed it for another season.

Bel-Air Plot and Cast

In the Bel-Air Season 1 finale, Will learns the truth about his father. He hadn’t left Will, as he had always been told, but had been incarcerated for robbery. Feeling betrayed, Will stormed out after an explosive argument with Aunt Viv and Uncle Phil. He thought about returning to Philly but seemed to reconsider after a talking-to from Jazz.

When asked for Season 2 details, showrunner T.J. Brady told TVLine that they will go to try and define themselves in Los Angeles outside of Bel-Air. He also added that they could look forward to him seeing what else that city has to offer in terms of making him feel like he belongs, places and people where he can thrive, and just figuring out a future for himself.

Brady continued that the incident with Lou coupled with Jazz’s words and Will’s journey is going to take him on that coming-of-age self-discovery that everyone can relate to.

The cast members expected to return includes Jabari Banks, Olly Sholotan, Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, and Coco Jones. We might get to see the return of Akira Akbar, April Parker Jones, and honorary family member Jimmy Akingbola. We can also expect Simone Joy Jones and Jordan L Jones to return.

Bel-Air Season 2 Release Date

The first season of Bel-Air premiered this year and it was confirmed to have a second season when it was first announced. For now, we can expect Season 2 to premiere sometime in 2023.

The upcoming season might consist of ten episodes like the first season. The series is produced by Arbolada Roads, Ra Shines Inc., Cooper Films, The 51, Westbrook Studios, and Universal Television.
