Better Things is an American comedy-drama television series. Pamela Adlon and Louis C.K. created this series for FX. It stars Adlon as a divorced actress who raises her three daughters on her own.
FX gave a 10-episode order on 7 August 2015. The series premiered on 8 September 2016. FX renewed the series for a second season on 20 September 2016. It premiered on 14 September 2017. In October 2017, FX renewed the series for a third season. This season premiered on 28 February 2019 and consisted of 12 episodes. Adlon directed all the episodes of this season. In March 2019, the series was renewed for a 10-episode fourth season that premiered on 5 March 2020. The series was renewed for a fifth season in May 2020.
The series and Adlon’s performance have been praised. Adlon was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2017 and 2018. The show also received a Peabody Award in April 2017.
