Created by David E. Kelley based on The Highway series of books by C. J. Box, and starring Katheryn Winnick, Kylie Bunbury, and Ryan Phillippe, “Big Sky” is an American crime drama-thriller that premiered on November 17, 2020.
PREMISE:
Private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken.
After the on and off hiatus of the show, the latest episode finally resumed on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 10 P.M ET on ABC.
In the time since Legarski died and Ronald got away, Cassie and Jenny have been working mostly domestic cases — cheating husbands and the like. While investigating a potential affair, they realize that the guy they’re staking out (Alan) probably isn’t stepping out on his wife; his shady behavior likely stems from the trafficking of some mysterious substance that gets him in a lot of trouble.
There’s a lot of runarounds to find Alan, who goes missing, and his wife, Naomi, and her dad, Bruce, get involved. But eventually — after Alan kills a hitman known as The Snail — The Snail’s boyfriend comes looking for him. The whole thing ends with Jenny shooting Snail’s boyfriend and saving Alan, who was ferrying… wait for it… black market thoroughbred semen.
