Black Lightning is a superhero drama television series. The series has been developed by Salim Akil and premiered on 16th January 2018 on The CW. The series is based on the character of the same name made by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden featured in publications of DC Comics. The first season had 13 episodes followed by a second season that was announced in April 2018 and premiered on 9th October 2018 of 16 episodes. The series was again renewed for a third season in January 2019 that premiered on 7th October 2019 for 16 episodes and recently it was renewed for a fourth and final season in January 2020 which is also the last season of this series.
The series follows the retired Black Lightning returning to his life as a superhero and the effects of the vigilante activity on his professional and family life. The series has been well received by the audience and has an approval rating of 96% (Season 1), 91% (Season 2) and 89% (Season 3) on Rotten Tomatoes. The international distribution and streaming rights of the series were acquired by Netflix.
Release Date of Black Lightning Season 4 (Final Season)
The fourth and final season of Black Lightning was ordered in January 2020 and it premiered on 8th February 2021 on The CW. The season has been produced by Berlanti Productions, Akil Productions, Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment. A total of six episodes of the fourth season has aired since 15th March 2021 and the rest of the episodes would air soon.

Plot of Black Lightning Season 4
The fourth season of Black Lightning follows Jefferson, who is now a high school counselor in his second stint as the superhero Black Lightning and he fights against the local corruption in his community of Freeland.
