Blonde: Plot and Cast
The novel refrains from mentioning many of the people involved in Monroe’s life by name. However, it was relatively easy for the readers to guess the identities by their initials or nicknames. The plot follows Monroe’s life from childhood through her rise to fame and her unfortunate death. Many people, including Joyce Carol Oates herself, believe her death was an assassination, which is how she chooses to end the novel.
