Bloodlands Season 2: Release Date, Plot and more!

Created and written by Chris Brandon, Bloodlands is a British police procedural BBC television series that premiered on BBC One on 21 February 2021. Internationally, Season 1 started streaming on Acorn TV in the United States and Canada on 15 March 2021.

The show is produced by Christopher Hall and developed by HTM Television, a joint venture between Hat Trick Productions and the producer Jed Mercurio. The series was renewed for a second series on 14 March 2021, with filming commencing in February 2022.

Bloodlands Plot and Cast

Season two of Bloodlands looks set to explore the aftermath of Pat Keenan and Tori Matthew’s deaths, which Tom is responsible for. While police believe that Pat Keenan was Goliath all along and that he killed Tori because he somehow found out that she was the one who kidnapped him, we know that Tom gave Pat Tori’s identity because she knew he was the person behind the Goliath killings and he knew that Pat would kill Tori.

Tom then killed Pat to tie up any loose ends and will have told police that he did so after discovering he had killed Tori. It’s also possible Emma Brannick could make her first appearance on the show – that is if we believe Tom’s claims that he let her go after killing her secret lover David Cory. Could she return to Belfast to set the story straight and reveal Tom to be the killer he is? We’ll have to wait and see.

Coming to the cast, we can expect the lead cast from Season 1 reprise their roles. This includes James Nesbitt, Lorcan Cranitch, Charlene McKenna, Chris Walley, Michael Smiley, Susan Lynch and Ian McElhinney. We might get to see Lola Petticrew, Lisa Dwan, Peter Ballance, Kathy Kiera Clarke, Cara Kelly, Caolan Byrne, Valerie Lilley and Victoria Smurfit in other importat roles.

Bloodlands Season 2 Release Date

It’s not yet clear when exactly James Nesbitt will return to our screens with the second season of Bloodlands but, given that filming only kicked off in February 2022, we may have to wait a little longer.

We can still expect Bloodlands Season 2 to premiere by the end of 2022. It has been confirmed that the second season would have six episodes and the rest of the details about the new season is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
