Created by Martin Freeman, Chris Addison, and Simon Blackwell, Breeders is a dark comedy television series. Freeman is also an executive producer of the show along with Chris Addison, Simon Blackwell, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, David Martin, Jon Thoday, Michael Wiggs, and Ben Palmer.

The series premiered on March 2, 2020, on the American cable network FX, and on the British network Sky One on March 12, 2020. In May 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on March 22, 2021. In May 2021, the series was renewed for a third season which premiered on May 9, 2022. In July 2022, the series was renewed for a fourth season.

Breeders Plot and Cast

The specific storyline for season four of Breeders has not been revealed yet. However, it is safe to assume that the upcoming fourth season will pick up from where the third season finale left off. The final episode titled “No More Part Two” was helmed by Ollie Parsons and penned by Simon Blackwell.

The official synopsis of the last episodes reads: “A furious argument between Paul and Ally is interrupted by Ava’s news about Jim; Luke is happier than ever; a newly confident Ava stands up to her dad, but Paul and Ally need to decide if this is it.” Thus it is predicted that this already solidified theory will direct to the pilot episode of the fourth season of Breeders.

The characters who will be returning will more likely be the same including Martin Freeman in the role of Paul Worsley, Daisy Haggard will be back as Ally Grant, Michael McKean plays Michael, Stella Gonet portrays Leah, Joanna Bacon depicts Jackie, Alun Armstrong plays Jim, Patrick Baladi will play Darren, Tim Steed as the next-door neighbor and more.

Breeders Season 4 Release Date

The renewal announcement for season 4 was dropped in July 2022 just a few days after the second season wrapped on July 11, 2022. Looking at the previous release timeline it’s most likely that the new batch of episodes will arrive on our TV screen by early or mid-2023.

However, this is all just based on the assumptions at this point. Nonetheless, FX will provide and confirm the official premiere date for the upcoming season in the next couple of months as production proceeds.
