Bridgerton Season 4: Release Date, Plot, and more!

Created by Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton is a period drama series made for Netflix. Dusen is also the executive producer alongside Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Julie Anne Robinson.

The first season of the series premiered on December 25, 2020 followed by the second season on March 25, 2022. The series has received positive reviews from critics and currently holds an approval rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the positive response towards the first two seasons, the makers have renewed the series for a third and fourth season.

Bridgerton Plot and Cast

Since the second season of Bridgerton ended recently and there is no confirmed release date for Season 3, it is hard to predict what would happen in Season 4. However, we can expect it to continue from where Season 3 will end.

In the first season, Colin and Penelope were saying goodbye and Colin was off to travel as Penelope always encouraged him to do it. However, Penelope was on the verge of her very own ‘I burn for you’ level love declaration. The synopsis of the novel says that the story resumes when Colin returns to London and they find secrets abut each other that test their potential for a happy ending. Everyone knows Penelope’s secret, but it will be interesting to see what Colin is covering up.

Maria Thompson is not a major character in the books, but was a serious contender for Colin’s love in Season 1. However, the second season proved that there is nothing between them anymore. Marina is out of the way and it seemed Penelope was ready to express her true feelings for the longtime family friend but towards the end of Season 2, she overheard him saying that there is no chance he would ever go for her.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Adjoa Andoh, Lorraine Ashbourne, Jonathan Bailey, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Nicola Coughlan, Phoebe Dynevor, Ruth Gemmell and others in the lead roles. Since it is a new season, we can expect to see some new faces.

Bridgerton Season 4 Release Date

The second season of Bridgerton premiered in March 2022 and the third season should premiere by mid-2023. Considering that, the fourth season is expected to premiere sometime in 2024, although the official details will be revealed later.

The new season might consist of eight episodes like the first two seasons with the same runtime. The makers have not announced any other changes in the cast and crew until now.
