Created by Pedro Morelli, Brotherhood is a Brazilian crime drama web television series, developed for Netflix. Morelli has also directed the episodes of the show, and Andrea Barata Ribeiro and Bel Berlinck are the producers.

The first season of the show premiered on October 25, 2019 and has received generally positive reviews from critics. It has been rated 7.5/10 on IMDb and 9.2/10 on Premiere Date. The show has been edited by Sabrina Wilkins, Paulao de Barros, Rodrigo Menecucci and Joao Menna Barreto and the cinematography has been handled by Adrian Teijido.

Brotherhood Plot and Cast

According to online sources, the second season will pick up directly from where the first season left off. After a successful plan that puts the Irmandade on every news coverage, Cristina would taste power for the first time. However, she also has to bear the consequences of her choices and prove her loyalty to her brother Edson as he becomes increasingly authoritarian and violent.

The show is set in the mid-90s and follows the story of Cristina, an honest and dedicated lawyer who finds that her estranged brother is in prison and is a leader of a rising criminal faction. Coerced by the police, she is forced to become an informant and work against her brother whom she always idolized. As she infiltrates the Brotherhood, she starts to question what’s right and what’s just.

Coming to the cast, the leads from the first season are expected to reprise their roles in Season 2. This include Dion Andias, Naruna Costa, Seu Jorge, Hermila Guedes, Lee Taylor, Danilo Grangheia, Pedro Wagner, Wesley Guimaraes and Joao Humberto Vancini.

Brotherhood Season 2 Release Date

Online sources say that the makers of Brotherhood have already renewed the series for a second season. Although an official release date is yet to be announced, we can expect the second season to premiere sometime in 2022.

The upcoming season might consist of eight episodes like Season 1, even though an official confirmation is still awaited. The developers are yet to disclose further details related to Season 2.
