Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Upcoming Seasons are delayed?

Infinity Ward and Activision are halting the contents of Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone amid nationwide protests over police brutality. Apart from Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4, Call of Duty Smartphone Season 7 has been postponed.

Why the Seasons are Delayed?

Call of Duty’s Twitter page tweeted that now’s “not the moment” and that it will “push the releases of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later days. Right now it’s time for people to stand out for freedom, fairness, and reform to be seen and understood.”

The very first response to the twitter post wasn’t positive, as one gamer said, “That’s stupid”. Others said, “Good move, I respect this.” And so on, with players weighing in as they would.

There is no hint about the new dates for the new seasons, however, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s fourth season was scheduled to start on 3 June, while Call of Duty: Mobile’s was also scheduled for this week.

The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and eventual economic collapse looked somewhat surreal, but now we have huge protests over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in the aftermath of a deadly pandemic.

The wait comes in the wake of widespread campaigns against police brutality following the death of George Lloyd in Minnesota. Sony made a similar decision earlier on Monday, suspending Thursday’s PS5 case to “allow more relevant voices to be heard”. Nobody knows what is going to occur next. The White House was surrounded by activists. Videos of thievery and bashings by the police are taking place on social media. Curfews have been set up all over the country.

Sony and EA canceled major events this week, and others can eventually follow if conditions continue to deteriorate.

However this sounds like something that will continue on for quite a while, and nothing is more vaguely clear. So be safe, be nice to each other, and keep wearing masks and wash your hands regularly.
