Call Your Mother is an upcoming sitcom television series on ABC. Kari Lizer (The New Adventures of Old Christine) is the creator of Call Your Mother, and is also a co-executive producer on the series. The sitcom was first ordered as a pilot in September 2019, and on January 23, 2020, it was given a working title called “My Village”. This title was changed in May 2020 when the series was greenlit by ABC, and was renamed Call Your Mother. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television & ABC Studios.

Call Your Mother stars Kyra Sedgwick as Jean Raines, an empty-nest mother who reinserts herself into her children’s lives; Rachel Sennott as Jackie Raines, Jean’s daughter; Joey Bragg as Freddie Raines, Jean’s son; Patrick Bramall as Danny; Emma Caymares as Celia; and Austin Crute as Lane.
Sherrie Shepherd appears as the recurring character Sharon. She was recently cast in the role, in September 2020.

Plot of Call Your Mother
The official website of the series describes its premise as this-
“Call Your Mother follows the story of an empty-nester mom who wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought.”
Call Your Mother Season 1 Premiere Details
The filming for Call Your Mother was supposed to begin in April 2020, but was postponed in the previous month in March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 17 2020, it was announced that Call Your Mother will premiere in the fall of 2020, and occupy the 9:30 pm slot on Wednesday nights. However, the very next day, another announcement was made, stating that the first season of Call Your Mother will switch places with Black-ish, which is now in its seventh season, and premiered on October 4, 2020.
Call Your Mother will debut as a midseason series in 2021, as a part of the 2020-21 broadcast schedule.
