Created and written by Clive Bradley, Castlevania: Nocturne is an American adult animated dark fantasy action television series and led by producer Kevin Kolde.  It is a sequel to the Castlevania animated series, which is based on the video game series of the same name by Konami and adapted from the 1993 entry Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and its sequel Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Set in 1792, during the French Revolution, it follows Richter Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont family fighting against vampires and night creatures. The makers have renewed the series for a second season which will be released soon.

Castlevania: Nocturne Plot and Cast

Detailed information about the plot for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 has not been disclosed but a few things can be speculated, keeping in mind the ending of Season 1. The show is set in the height of the French Revolution during 1792 and there is a counter-revolutionary aristocracy in western France that has allied with a vampire named Messiah. Messiah is willing to eat the sun and release a group of vampires and night creatures to end the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette has been residing in the Caribbean and she goes on a journey to find Richard Belmont who is the remaining descendant of a family of vampire hunters.

The final episode witnessed the arrival of Alucard who murders Drolta. There is another vampire named Erzsebet who has already unleashed her dark forces throughout France. The new season is expected to witness Richter fighting against Erszebet who has now found Alucard taking his side.

The cast of the series included Edward Bluemel as Richter Belmont, Thuso Mbedu as Annette, Pixie Davies as Maria Renard, Richard Dormer as Emmanuel, Sydney James Harcourt as Edouard, Nastassja Kinski as Tera Renard, Zahn McClarnon as Olrox, Aaron Neil as Mizrak, Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont, Elarica Johnson as Drolta Tzuentes, and more.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 Release Date

The series debuted on September 28, 2023, and holds an approval rating of 96% on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. It was also nominated for “Best Adaptation” at The Game Awards 2023.

The developers have renewed the series for a second season on October 6, 2023. But the official release date is yet to be confirmed.

Where to Watch Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 Online?

The second season of Castlevania: Nocturne will be premiered on the same platform where the first season was available. The first season was released on the American streaming service platform Netflix.
