Created by David Gelb, Chef’s Table is a documentary series, made for Netflix. Gelb is also the executive producer alongside Andrew Fried, Brian McGinn, Dane Lillegard, Matt Weaver and Lisa Nishimura.
The first season premiered on April 26, 2015 and ran for five more seasons on the streaming platform. It received positive reviews from critics with particular praise towards the cinematography, score and production. The makers have renewed the series for a seventh and eighth season on May 20, 2019.

Chef’s Table takes viewers inside both the lives and kitchens of a variety of the world’s most acclaimed and successful international chef with each episode placing the spotlight on a single chef and exploring the unique lives, talents and passions which influence their style of cooking.
Each episode of the series focuses on a specific chef, and explores their personal philosophies and approach to cooking. Creator David Gelb considers it a follow-up to his documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Both documentaries make use of cinematography and production techniques based on traditional filmmaking rather than reality television.
The previous season featured Mashama Bailey who returns to her home in Savannah and turned a bus station into a restaurant called The Grey. We can expect to see similar personalities in Season 7 and the details shall be revealed soon.
The latest season of Chef’s Table premiered in February 2019 and it was renewed for two more seasons in May 2019. Considering that, the seventh season should premiere sometime in 2022.
The number of episodes for the upcoming season is not confirmed until now since it has been different in the first six seasons. The show is distributed by Netflix.
