Clouds: Plot and Cast
Clouds is a movie titled after Zach Sobiech’s famous song “Clouds” that came out in December 2012. Sobiech wrote the song after he was told by his doctors that he only had one more year left to live. After being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, at the age of 14, he started writing music. During his entire sickness, he underwent ten surgeries and about twenty rounds of chemotherapy.
Zach Sobiech also formed the band “A Firm Handshake” with a couple of friends: Samantha “Sammy” Brown and Reed Redmond. The group managed to release a single EP before Sobiech’s unfortunate death, titled “Fix Me Up”.
Justin Baldoni and Rainn Wilson previously created a 22 minute YouTube video on Zach’s life, titled “My Last Days: Meet Zach Sobiech”. The series was so inspiring, that Baldoni decided to turn Zach’s mother’s memoir into a movie.
Fin Argus plays Zach, Sabrina Carpenter plays Sammy Brown, Neve Campbell plays Laura, Zach’s mother and Tom Everett Scott plays Rob Sobiech, Zach’s father.
