Coming 2 America: Cast, Release Date and Details!
It has been three decades since we first saw the crown prince of Zamunda travel to America to find love for himself. Now, after such a long time, the former crown prince and soon to be king of Zamunda is planning another expedition to the United States of America. This time, however, it is to find his son and groom him in the ways of a crown prince. That’s right. The sequel to 1988 romantic comedy Coming to America is coming to theatres this year. The film will be directed by Craig Brewer. There is no official trailer released for the film yet. Until then, you can watch the trailer of the first film right here:
Cast of Coming 2 America
Eddie Murphy will be returning to his role of the former prince and soon to be king of Zamunda, Akeem Joffer. He might also reprise the other roles that he played in the first film. Arsenio Hall is also returning to his role of Semmi, Akeem’s best friend and aide in the film. Shari Headley also returns to her role of Lisa McDowell, Akeem’s wife; as does John Amos to his role of Cleo McDowell, Akeem’s former employer and now his father-in-law. Jermaine Fowler joins the cast as Lavelle, Akeem’s son and Leslie Jones has been cast as his mother in the film. Tracy Morgan will be playing the role of Reem, Lavelle’s uncle. James Earl Jones returns to his role of King Jaffe Joffer, Akeem’s ailing father and king of Zamunda.
KiKi Layne will be playing the role of Akeem’s first daughter, Meeka Joffer. Wesley Snipes has been cast to play the role of General Izzi. Vanessa Bell Calloway will play the role of Imani Izzi. Rick Ross also joins the cast and will be playing himself in the film.

The sequel was announced in early 2017. Cast announcements were made in January of 2019. Coming 2 America is scheduled to release in USA and Canada on December 18, 2020.
