Directed by Paul Starkman, Crime Scene Kitchen is an American reality television series that premiered on Fox on May 26, 2021. On April 7, 2021, it was announced that Fox had ordered Crime Scene Kitchen, with Joel McHale as host and Yolanda Gampp and Curtis Stone serving as judges for the series.
McHale is also the executive producer alongside Allison Grodner, Rich Meehan, and Conrad Green. On May 16, 2022, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a second season.
So, when is the second season releasing? What is the show format? Who will be the cast members? Keep reading to know further details.
Crime Scene Kitchen Format and Cast
In the first season of the show Crime Scene Kitchen, there were a total of 9 episodes. In each episode, bakers are tasked with decoding the type of dessert that was prepared in a kitchen using only crumbs, flour trails, and a few clues. They are then asked to recreate the desserts identified, from scratch, for the judges.
Each episode consists of two rounds: winners of the first round receive an extra hint in the second round. The worst performing team in the second “Showpiece” round is eliminated from the competition.
Talking about the cast, Joel will likely return for Crime Scene Kitchen season 2 as the host, considering he’s also credited as a producer. Whether Yolanda and Curtis will continue judging has yet to be confirmed. There’s speculation that Curtis won’t be returning due to his role as an Iron Chef on Netflix’s Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.
However, the Iron Chef reboot premieres on June 15, meaning they probably wrapped up filming a few months earlier. So, Curtis’ schedule may still permit him an appearance on Crime Scene Kitchen.
Crime Scene Kitchen Season 2 Release Date
A release date for Crime Scene Kitchen season 2 has yet to be announced. Since season 1 premiered at the end of May, there’s speculation that fans may be rewarded with an early summer release.
The new season might consist of nine episodes like the first season but an official confirmation is yet to announce. Fly on the Wall Entertainment and Fox Entertainment are the production companies of the series.
