Developed by Dave Wasson, The Cuphead Show! is an animated musical slapstick streaming television series. Based on the 2017 Canadian video game Cuphead by Studio MDHR, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, the creators of Cuphead, also serve as executive producers, along with Wasson and CJ Kettler from King Features Syndicate, and Cosmo Segurson serving as co-executive producer.

The series was released worldwide on February 18, 2022, and received generally positive reviews. Similar to the game it is based on, many critics praised the visuals, as well as the humor and tone. The second half of the first season is set to be released on August 19, 2022, and the makers have already renewed the show for a third and final season.

The makers have renewed The Cuphead Show! For a new season and it will be the final season. Since it is recently renewed. Therefore, it is hard to predict the release date now. But we can expect it to be out in 2023.

The episode numbers have not been revealed by the creators yet. The rest of the details related to the show is yet to be confirmed and revealed by the makers.

The Cuphead Show! Plot and Cast

Since the developers of the show have recently renewed the show for a third season, there is not much information available about the plot, although it will continue from where the previous season would end.

The story of the series is a little different from that of the video game. While Cuphead still owes his soul to the Devil, unlike the game where he and Mugman fight against the Devil’s other debtors to pay their debt, instead of giving up their souls, in the show it is different. The Devil doesn’t seem willing to simply forget about Cuphead’s debt. This could be the premise of Season 2 where the brothers could look for a solution to Cuphead’s soul debt.

In the first season, they have also just met Ms. Chalice because of whom the brother ended up behind bars. She will be making her debut as a playable character in the upcoming expansion Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course. She will probably have a bigger role in the next set of episodes.

The characters who will be returning for sure are Tru Valentino as Cuphead, Frank Todaro as Mugman, Joe Hanna as Elder Kettle, Luke Millington-Drake as the Devil, and Grey Griffin as Ms. Chalice. Cosmo Segurson as Porkrind, and Wayne Brady as King Dice, may also be returning.
