D.P. Season 2: Release Date, Plot, and more!

Produced by Kim Dong-min, D.P. is a South Korean streaming television series and it is based on the Lezhin webtoon D.P. Dog’s Day by Kim Bo-tong. Kim has also written the screenplay with Han Jun-hee. Han is also the executive producer alongside Byun Seung-min.

The first season of the show premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2021, and has received positive reviews from critics. The show has been rated 8.3/10 on IMDb. The series is produced by Kim Dong-min and edited by Park Min-sun. Since it has received decent feedback, the makers have renewed the show for a second season.

So, when is the second season released? What is the plot? Who has been cast to play the lead roles? Continue reading to know further details.

D.P. Season 2 Release Date

The first season of D.P. premiered on August 2021 and the show was renewed for a second season in December 2021. Considering that, the second season will likely get released towards the end of 2022.

The new season is expected to have six episodes like Season 1, although an official confirmation is still awaited. The makers are yet to reveal further details about the second season.

D.P. Plot and Cast

The ending of D.P. Season 1 left a lot of questions unanswered. From the beginning, the show talked about emotional oppression, power exploitation, command ragging, and much more. The last episode of Season 1 saw Joon Ho walk away from unfollowing his unit commander’s commands. Joon finds it different to escape since there is no way to get out of the country as all of the openings were blocked by the military.

There is another plot of Ho Hyeol, who did not follow the command of his senior, Sergeant First Class Park Bum Gu, multiple times in front of all the subordinates. He also got a second chance after coming from the hospital, but political power abuse can raise the level of conflict in the new episodes of the second season.

If the military finds out about their hideout of Ho, he may get punished in the court-martial conducted by the Korean military court. The bro code of Hoon and Ho will definitely attract the audience’s attraction.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Jung Hae-in, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-Kyun, and Son Seok-Koo in the main roles. We should also get to see Jo Hyun-Chul, Shin Seung-ho, Park Se-Joon, Park Jung-woo, Kim Dong-young, Lee Jun-young, and others in the supporting roles.
