Dark Winds: Release Date, Plot and more!
Created by Graham Roland, Dark Winds is an upcoming psychological thriller series. It is based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman.
Roland is also the executive producer alongside Zahn McClarnon, George R.R. Martin, Robert Redford, Tina Elmo, Vince Gerardis, Vince Calandra and Chris Eyre. The show is produced by AMC Networks and Dark Winds Productions, and will be airing on AMC and AMC+.

Dark Winds Plot and Cast
The Leaphorn & Chee novels have a lot of stories, characters and moments and Dark Winds is not being called a direct adaptation of the book. The title hints at the possibility that the show will borrow from the 1982 novel The Dark Wind, although the official plot description hints toward something else.
The series has been described as a psychological thriller focusing on two Navajo police officers, Leephorn and Chee in the Southwest during the 1970s. They search clues for a grisly murder case which forces them to challenge their own spiritual beliefs and connects with the trauma of their pasts.
AMC has not revealed a lot of details about the plot until now, and this is fair since it is a crime thriller. Further information is expected to be disclosed in the next few months.
Coming to the cast, we should get to see Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Noah Emmerich, Jessica Matten, Rainn Wilson and Deanna Allison in the lead roles. The ones appearing in supporting roles will be unveiled once the show releases on AMC.
Dark Winds Release Date
The makers have confirmed the release date as June 12, 2022. Dark Winds was greenlit in 2021 and Vince Calandra will serve as the showrunner. Chris Eyre will be the director of the pilot episode.
The upcoming show is confirmed to have six episodes. The makers are expected to announce further details about the show as the release date approaches.
