AMC is soon bringing a new psychological thriller on its platform titled Dark Winds. Created by Graham Roland, it is based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman.
Graham is also the executive producer of the show along with Zahn McClarnon, George R.R. Martin, Robert Redford, Tina Elmo, Vince Gerardis, Vince Calandra, and Chris Eye. The show was greenlit by AMC back in July 2021 and viewers are eagerly waiting for the new show.
So, when is the show releasing? What will be the plot of the series? Who have been cast in the lead and supporting roles? Continue reading to know further details.
Dark Winds Plot and Cast
The psychological thriller will follow two Navajo police officers, Leephorn and Chee in the 1970s Southwest. The duo would search for clues in a double murder case which forces them to challenge their own spiritual beliefs and becomes familiar with the trauma of their pasts.
The show seems to have a common link to the 1993 Hillerman novel Sacred Clowns, based on a double murder. The main characters looks like original creations and people are excited about the development of one character in the story since a brazen robbery puts him back in the big time and forces him to seek out Leaphorn for help.
Talking about the cast of the series, we would get to see Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn and Kiowa Gordon as Jim Chee. The rest of the actors confirmed to appear include Noah Emmerich, Jessica Mattern, Rainn Wilson and Deanna Allison.
