Dave is a comedy television series on FXX. The series is co-created by rapper/comedian Lil Dicky, and Jeff Schaffer. They both also serve as executive producers on the series, alongside Saladin K. Patterson, Greg Mottola, Kevin Hart, Marty Bowen, Scooter Braun, Mike Hertz, Scott Manson, and James Shin. The first season of Dave premiered on March 4, 2020. It consisted of ten episodes. The premise of Dave is this-

“The series stars a fictionalized version of Lil Dicky, a suburban neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time, but gives it up to make a hit TV show about being destined to be one of the best rappers of all time.”

Dave Season 2 – More updates and news

The first season of Dave was a breakout series at FXX. It became FX Network’s highest viewed comedy series ever, with an average episodic audience of 5.32 million. Following the success of the first season, the series was renewed for a second season in May 2020. Dave Burd, aka Lil Dicky, the co-creator and protagonist of the series, had this to say about the renewal of Dave for a second season-

“We set out to make something special and it’s so gratifying to see the response this show has gotten. This was my first rodeo, so I’m super excited to take another crack at it now that I’ve got some experience making television. It really feels like the sky is the limit with this show. I look forward to raising the bar even higher next year.”

No official release date has yet been announced for season 2 of Dave. However, FX have confirmed that the second season of Dave will premiere in 2021.
