Dear White People is an American comedy-drama television series on Netflix. The show follows several black college students at an Ivy League institution, touching on issues surrounding modern American race relations.  It’s based on the 2014 film which had the same name. The film’s writer and director, Justin Simien, returned to write and direct episodes of the series. Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, DeRon Horton and Antoinette Robertson star in this series. Except for the finale, each episode focuses on a particular character.

• Logan Browning as Samantha White, a college student trying to wake people up to the social issues still at play at Winchester.
• Brandon P. Bell as Troy Fairbanks. Bell reprises his role from the film.
• DeRon Horton as Lionel Higgins. A highly intelligent school reporter, with some emotional issues.
• Antoinette Robertson as Colandrea “Coco” Conners, an ambitious black woman who antagonizes Samantha.
• John Patrick Amedori as Gabe Mitchell, Samantha’s main love interest.
• Ashley Blaine Featherson as Joelle Brooks. Featherson reprises her role from the film (the character is credited as “Curls” in the film).
• Marque Richardson as Reggie Green. Richardson reprises his role from the film.

WHEN IS SEASON 4 OF DEAR WHITE PEOPLE RELEASING?

Even before the pandemic, the gap between the first three season was approximately 12-15 months and there is a lot of uncertainty as to how to film safely due to the pandemic. It might be a while before a release date is announced. We can expect season four to drop around Autumn 2020.
