Created by Ilana Peña, “Diary of A Future President” is an American coming-of-age comedy-drama streaming television series loosely based on the life of Ilana, and follows Elena, a 12-year-old Cuban American girl as she navigates through the personal and social pressures of adolescence on her journey to become the future President of the United States.
The viewers also get a peek into young Miamians home life alongside her mom Gabi (Selenis Leyva), a busy attorney with a budding office romance (Michael Weaver), and her older brother Bobby (Charlie Bushnell), who is coming to terms with his sexuality.

In the second instalment, we see Elena shocked to discover that “everything changed” over the summer — her BFF got a BF, her mother’s boyfriend is moving in, and her brother is struggling with his sexuality.
Gina Rodriguez stars as an older Elena Canero-Reed in the Diary of a Future President when the character is actually US president, shown as flashforwards.
