Disney’s Enchanted, which came out in 2007, enchanted everyone with its music and performances. The film was both a critical and commercial success, raking in $340 million against a budget of $85 million. The film was directed by Kevin Lima and written by Bill Kelly. The music of the film, which was well-praised, was given by Alan Menken. Enchanted received a lot of nominations and won a lot of awards. It won three Saturn Awards, including Best Fantasy Film and Best Actress for the lead lady Amy Adams. The film was also nominated for two Golden Globes and three Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
Disenchanted – What we know so far
A sequel has been in the works since 2010, but there have been occasional delays here and there. Anne Fletcher was supposed to direct the sequel and was announced to be doing so, in June 2014. However, she was replaced by Adam Shankman in October 2016. The title of the film was also revealed around this time. Filming was due to begin in the summer of 2017, but it never seemed to take off. In March 2018, director Adam Shankman announced that Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz will return to write the songs for the film; and that it would feature more songs than the first film.

The main cast of the film is also expected to be back for the sequel. Amy Adams as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey as Robert Philip, Rachel Covey as Robert’s daughter Morgan, James Marsden as Prince Edward, Idina Menzel as Nancy; all are expected to return for Disenchanted.
Release Date of Disenchanted
The sequel has been in development for a long time, with changes in crew taking place as well. The most recent development came in February 2020, when it was announced that Adam Shankman will also serve as a screenwriter besides being the director. As of April 2020, the film has entered the pre-production stage. The film can be expected to release sometime in late 2021, or the latest in 2022 on any of the available release dates that Disney will have that year.
