After a load of controversies and a huge debate around the renewal, Katy Keene is at the threshold of indecisiveness. The CW canceled the show after just one season but the fans and not yet ready to give up. So, the question is should Netflix bring back the musical comedy-drama? The fans say that the answer should be yes. But the thing is Katy Keene was never on Netflix because of its concluding contract with The CW. Now, what?
What is the Show about?
Katy Keene is developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi and is based on the Archie Comics character of the same name. It’s technically a spin-off of Riverdale set several years after the events of the first four seasons. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions, in association with Archie Comics, CBS Television Studios, and Warner Bros. Television.
The premise follows “the professional and romantic lives of four Archie Comics characters, including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene and singer-songwriter Josie McCoy, five years after the events of Riverdale, as they chase their dreams in New York City. The series infuses music into the plotlines and follows the origins, trials, and tribulations of four struggling artists who are desperate to make it in the spotlight.”
Protagonist Lucy Hale took to the social media and disclosed the bad news.
Should Netflix bring back the show?
Netflix has the right to pick up the show and save it from the debacle but in that case, they need to hurry up their decision, due to the huge demand from the audience. And why not? Netflix’s original Riverdale is famous all over the world. On the other hand, the pick-up might be a bit risky, since even though the show has won a lot of hearts, and yet the viewership is still less. The fuss awaits many complicated decisions indeed.
i'm so fucking sad for Lucy Hale. #KatyKeene is her third CW show canceled after just one season, I wish her well and hope to see her on a new show soon. She deserves it.💜 pic.twitter.com/lhf02MbpHF
