Echo is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase Five. In 2021, Marvel gave us Hawkeye, a show that introduced us to Maya Lopez/Echo. Soon, she will be getting a spin-off TV series named Echo.
Created by Marion Dayre, Echo is an upcoming American television series on the streaming service Disney+. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The executive producers of the show include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, and Jason Gavin.
So, when the brand new show is releasing? What is the plot? Who has been cast in the lead roles? Keep reading to know more.
Echo Plot and Cast
This plot is set after the events of Hawkeye. It will further explore our deaf Native American superhero protagonist as she returns to her hometown. She will come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community.
Although Hawkeye appeared to end with Echo shooting Kingpin, the comics have a similar storyline where Kingpin survives getting shot but gets blinded. This may explain his return in the upcoming series.
Daredevil will be searching for a former ally in this series, who is widely rumored to be Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). With information like this, it is apparent that Echo will be catering to fans of the Disney+ and Netflix era of Marvel TV.
Coming to casts, it includes Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, and others.
