The wait is finally over! After an extremely successful first season following the life of Emily Cooper, an American who moves to the ‘City of Lights’ to work at a French marketing firm, the show is coming back again. Netflix has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated second season of Emily in Paris. Production for the new season began on May 3rd with the filming wrapping up in late July. In a recent interview, showrunner Darren Star dished on the new season. He said that we would see Emily become more comfortable and acquainted with the city of Paris. Thus, this would make the viewer feel as if they are maturing along with her. Hence, we can expect a lot from the upcoming season.
Emily in Paris (Season 2): Plot and Cast
As per the synopsis released by Netflix, it looks like this season is going to be jam-packed with drama. It says, ‘After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work – which is getting more complicated by the day.’ Hence, this season is shaping up to be a fun watch indeed.
After the release of the synopsis, fans have quickly started to theorize about the love triangle between Emily, Gabriel, and newcomer Alex and where it could lead to. Especially after the explosive season one finale where Emily and Gabriel finally confess their love for each other. Therefore there are many questions to be answered.
It is absolutely no surprise that Lily Collins will reprise her role as the titular character Emily. Fans will also be delighted to hear that series regulars Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu will also return for the second season. Newcomer Lucien Laviscount will also join the show. He will surely be a great new actor who will spice up the show for us.
