Everything we know (so far) about OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition

OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Speed Orange in just a few days from now. Except for its collaboration with the British car brand McLaren and event date, the Chinese manufacturer didn’t reveal much about the upcoming smartphone. But Twitter User @IshanAgarwal24 recently shared both the design aspect as well as some the key specs of the Special Edition.

From the published images the McLaren Editions looks the same as the regular variant from the front with its waterdrop notch and large display. But turn it upside down, there is new glass design with carbon-fiber pattern underneath instead of a single color design. The company has added an orange hue to the bottom edge which extends to the sides. The choice of the color is understandable since McLaren’s signature color is orange. There is also a logo of the car manufacturer on the lower part at the back.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Speed Orange Edition

On the inside, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Speed Orange will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with a whopping 10GB of RAM. The battery capacity remains the same at 3,700 mAh but includes some new changes to the Warp Charge tech. The new version will be called Warp Charge 30 which delivers “a day’s power 20 minutes” according to the promotional posters.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Speed Orange Edition

OnePlus on the previous announcement mentioned that the collaboration with McLaren is a “long-term strategic partnership’ meaning there can be a number of McLaren OnePlus handsets in the future. Taking a cue from previous special editions, the McLaren Edition will be costlier than the top variant of the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus is scheduled to unveil the handset globally on December 11 followed the Indian on December 12 to be held at Richardson & Cruddas Limited building, Byculla, Mumbai at 6.00 PM. Other details regarding the price and availability of the handset will be revealed at the launch event.
